This company filed for credit under my name from Avant L.L.C.

I received a credit denial letter from Avant L.L.C.. I had never applied for credit with Avant L.L.C.. I called Avant LLC. and advised them that I had never applied for credit with them. They researched the application and stated that the application came through Quinstreet. I've never heard of Quinstreet. Avant is opening a fraud investigation into Quinstreet. Quinstreet should be destroyed.

Fraudulent loan

February 25, 2024

My identity has been stolen. Someone has control of my social security number and all of the rest of my personal identification. They are using this information to fraudulently apply for personal loans, insurance, and credit cards.

I recently received a copy of my Transunion credit report. It showed an inquiry from Quinstreet on December 29, 2023. I have not applied for any loans, credit cards, etc from your company. I have never had a loan or credit card from your company either. Someone has fraudulently applied using my information.

I have called and left a message with your company on several different occasions ~

January 16, 17, 26, and 30 (2xs), 2/5, and 2/12 asking for someone to call me back. I have received zero callbacks or received a busy signal. I have also been in correspondence thru emails with Pissed Consumer to no avail.

If any loans, credit cards, etc have been approved, it was not me who applied. I would like these accounts to be closed. I would like for you to send me a letter confirming that the fraudulent account is not mine, that I am not liable for the account, and it was removed from my credit report.

I will be happy to send you proof of my identity or any other information you might need. I have a police report as well.

I would appreciate a response so I know how to proceed.

Thank you,

David Woods

Information being sent to lenders

I was told and have received a letter from Lending Point that I was not aware my credit was being used, nor did I ask Quinstreet to find me a loan. I feel that my identity has been taken and used without my permission, I hope that my information and my credit does not have any harm to them. Sandra BancroftI

I did want a quote ONLINE, since this can never be provided i will stay where i am at. I am NOT interested in speaking with anyone so you can STOP calling me. Its been a few days and today i blocked them. It is so annoying how you are offered an online quote only to be bombarded with calls.

Insurance scam, Loan scam company. They call and actually leave a message stating that you have contacted them for an insurance quote or a loan. Today they called 8 times within 1 hour. I called the listed number back from a blocked line and guess what. I got a call center in California, India, Bangladesh, New York and Florida. Each time i asked to speak with a supervisor they stated, "Our Supervisors don't come to the phone, but give us a number to have them call you back" Uh nope. I finally got a CSR, who was in the United States to give me the Corporate Address but can't give me a corporate phone number. hmmm go figure. He is what I have found out about Insure.com - the supposed company that I called to get a quote from: Insure.com - owned by QuinStreet The "corporate" address for insure.com is: 950 Tower Lane, 6th Floor Foster City, CA 94404 Tel: (650) 578-**** <;;--- What wait a corporate phone number???? Coincidentally the information for QuinSttreet Here is some info on QuinStreet: Company Background Insure.com is owned by QuinStreet Inc. and originally was organized in1984 as Quotesmith Corporation. Quinstreet Inc. was founded in 1999 by Doug Valenti and is headquartered in Foster City, Calif. As of 2018, the company employed more than 600 people nationwide with more than $400 million in revenue. Insure.com is an A+ rated Better Business Bureau accredited business. In addition to its BBB accreditation, the company was also listed by MSN Money in the top 102 best money websites. The company also received recommendations from SmartMoney and Barron's. Kiplinger's Personal Finance named Insure.com as a best list website for three years consecutively. With such high customer satisfaction ratings, you can rely on the website for accurate and helpful information. From QuinStreet Wikipedia site: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/QuinStreet The company was investigated in 2012 by 20 U.S. states for using deceptive marketing tactics to promote for-profit schools to U.S. veterans. QuinStreet agreed to pay $2.5 million and made several changes to its practices to end the investigation. Despite the sanctions, QuinStreet continues gathering information which it sells to for-profit colleges. Also from Wikipedia site on QuinStreet Deceptive advertising investigation and settlement In June 2012, the company was under investigation by the Attorneys General's offices of 15 separate US states, led by the Attorney General of Kentucky, Jack Conway.[22] The company was accused of targeting military veterans with deceptive recruiting practices for its for-profit school clients.[23] The company agreed to pay a $2.5 million fine and relinquish the website GIBill.com.[23] Quinstreet's education clients have included Art Institutes, DeVry University, Kaplan University, University of Phoenix, Westwood, and other for-profit colleges. Here is QuinStreet website https://www.quinstreet.com/ Here is Insure.com website: https://www.insure.com/ So, in conclusion, why am I posting all this information??? Simple 2 reasons: About 1 year ago, I was contacted by this along with several loan companies, which I now suspect was QuinStreet companies for 3 months solid stating that I applied for a car loan, insurance quotes, home loans, health insurance quotes. Repeated request to remove my phone number from all of them with no compliance on their part, I finally had to change my phone numbers, which leads me to this post and reason for the post - I have never contacted these companies ever let alone with my new numbers, which with the above information I have researched and posted, shows in fact that this/these companies are scammers. This time around I have recorded all calls made to them to remove my information, advising them I have NEVER contacted them, recording all the incoming calls from each of these companies, who I spoke with when I could understand them for the lawsuit I am going to be filing this time, and posting on the BBB website and to hopefully warn those that have read this lengthy post to help keep your sanity.

Constant emails going straight to SPAM

I've clicked the UNSUBSCRIBE feature and then get a message that I need to contact the list owner DIRECTLY? So, just WHO is this 'list owner?" I see something about an address in Spokane, but that address does NOT exist. I click on the UNSUBSCRIBE but still get stuff from these people! This is ridiculous. All such companies should have their working phone numbers plainly displayed ....... and what's this "We're sorry to see you go!" crap? I NEVER WANTED ANYTHING FROM YOU IN THE FIRST PLACE! What nerve! I might drive over to Foster City and pay these *** a visit! It won't be pretty!

Quin street is still making robocalls to numbers on the FTC do not call list

I got 2 robocalls from Quinstreet about insurance today & immediately reported to FTC. Did not engage with caller or try to contact Quinstreet since FTC advises against. I have not shopped for insurance of any kind sincoe 2003, online or otherwise, so I don't know where they got my contact info OR the idea that I have given them permission to contact me & try to sell me insurance. I see a history of similar complaints online and get an overall negative impression of this company's sales practices.

Robocalls to Do-Not-Call Phone Numbers

They call a couple of times a week. I've never done business with them and my phone numbers are on the donotcall.gov registry (more than a year ago). The represent insurance.com and seem to be willing to disobey the law.

They call at various times of the day and leave a message asking to call back to consider buying insurance. The number 919-636-**** is just one of many numbers they use to hunt for customers. The reverse of that number is Quinnstreet.

The website insurance.com doesn't seem to provide any easy phone numbers to call. Sure: they must know they're violating the law and want to minimize fallout from their bad practices.

I did call their corporate office:

Hello. On behalf of QuinStreet please accept my apologies for your experience and resulting frustration. We recently updated our do-not-contact process and the transition has not been perfect.

Consumers may now request placement on our permanent global do-not-contact list. This means you will no longer be contacted by QuinStreet for any of our clients' products or services (e.g., insurance, mortgage, deposits of credit cards).(As you may aware, someone on a state or federal do-not-call list who submits their contact information to QuinStreet while comparison shopping online is agreeing to override their do-not-contact status for that product or service.

Placement on QuinStreet's permanent global contact list means even if you subsequently submit your information to QuinStreet you will not hear about those products or services). Please your contact email qs_compliance@***.com and we will expedite placement of that information on our permanent global do-not-contact list as described above. You may also contact me at 650-578-**** if you have any other questions or requests. Regards - Marty Collins, Chief Compliance Officer

Hi Marty,Thank you for your reply. To my knowledge, I have never shared personally-identifiable information with QuinStreet.

The Opt-Out approach you mention above; however, in most cases is an effective way to send unsolicited and unwanted communications. It places a significant burden on the consumer. It required some detective work to do the reverse phone number lookup to eventually discover that QuinStreet was associated with the unwanted phone calls. And, since QuinStreet works with a multitude of vendors, it is impossible for the vendor to know which vendor might have shared personally-identifiable information with QuinStreet.

Was it Amazon.com? Was it Ebay.com? I cannot tell. What is needed is an Opt-In approach.

Consumers should be given the choice by vendors to choose whether they wish to have their personally-identifiable information shared with third parties, including QuinStreet and any organization that QuinStreet would further share that information with.Is there any way I can discover which organization shared my information with QuinStreet?I have multiple phone numbers. Is there any way I can confirm that all of my phone numbers are permanently off of your sharing lists and on your permanent do-not-call list?

Great lead source for Home Improvement

I have been in the home improvement field for over 15yrs and I can honestly say quinstreet has been amazing I have never had a problem with calling there leads nor getting a refund. Shea which is our account manager is always there to help out when needed..I have used people like Remolding Pro that yes there leads are good but they don"t get back to you they aways have a excuses why they cant refund leads to you it takes them 2 months to do returns when Shea take 15 min if that..So if your needed home improvement leads call Shea at quinstreet or Adam there both Great at what they do.
